Infrared Signature Engineer

Job # 2023

  • Existing DoD security clearance is mandatory.  Remember, the Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • Performing Infrared analysis of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, missiles, and marine craft and associated propulsion systems (airframes and exhaust plumes) with IR Image, SIMIR, Vulcan, or Atlantic City. Infrared testing of above exhaust systems utilizing Indigo Phoenix mid-wave camera and RDAS or TRIE systems (Rtools, Thermagram, and IR Vista) in both flight test environments and labs. Aerodynamic testing using non-traditional methods utilizing IR cameras. Calibration of Indigo and Inframetrics IR cameras using black bodies.

  • You must currently be involved with performing Infrared signature analysis of hot parts and plume of aircraft exhaust systems.

  • Must be able to design IR exhaust components for analysis as well as test. Analysis of design requirements, evaluation of technical tool requirements, interaction with engine component groups and project disciplines, development of standard procedure, and both technical and customer documentation.

  • A Bachelors of Science in an engineering / technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 or more years related experience. IR analysis, heat transfer, internal aerodynamics, and a current Top Secret clearance.

  • You will also be involved with code writing of infrared signature algorithms (including Monte Carlo method) using a variety of programming languages included C/C++, Visual Basic, Excel/VBA, Unix scripts, and Perl. Design of low Observables IR exhaust systems for above platforms.

  • Geometry manipulation of low observable using Unigraphics, CAD, Gridgen, Lockheed ACAD, AutoCAD, or Boeing Mr Patches software for use in analytical code. Plume CFD analysis.

  • Convective heat transfer analysis using existing FORTRAN code and other available tools.

Low Observable Business Development Manager, Survivability Business

  • Expert knowledge of the signature management community, both in the Government and in the industry.

  • BSME or equivalent. MBA desired with 10 years of experience in business development related to aircraft/propulsion Survivability, Radar cross section, Infrared suppression and Low Observable technologies.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical/proposal writing and Oral presentation required.

  • Knowledge of government programs in the related field is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated capacity for developing and understanding strategy.

  • Ability to lead proposal efforts and be able to communicate to the senior management is required. Demonstrated ability to operate in team environment.

  • Lead the Business development activity for Survivability technologies.

  • Identify and research strategic opportunities and market the technologies to Government customers.

                                Low Observables Team Leader

You will wear multiple hats in this department, and have a variety of tasks to perform, such as:

  • Designing of low observable (LO) inlet & exhaust systems.

  • RCS analysis experience using X-Patch and Boeing CARLOS required.

  • Candidate must have working aptitude for geometry manipulation of low observable designs on workstations using Unigraphics CAD, Gridgen, Lockheed ACAD, AutoCAD, and Boeing Mr Patches software for use in analytical code. Must be able to design RCS components for analysis as well as test.

  • Assists in RF testing of LO exhaust systems. Analysis of design requirements, evaluation of technical tool requirements, interaction with engine component groups and project disciplines, development of standard procedure, and both technical and customer documentation.

  • Should be able to lead a team in the proposal preparation and execution of programs.

  • Must be an expert in the field of radar cross section (RCS) reduction of aircraft inlet & exhaust cavities as well as knowledgeable in the integration of apertures on aircraft.

A Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 or more years related experience.

Radar Cross Section Design Specialist

Job # 2002

Current RCS / Low Observable experience is mandatory.

You would work as part of integrated product development teams, responsible
for RCS analysis and prediction using computational tools such as Unigraphics, physical optics, method of moments, etc., for the design, fabrication, and test of our hardware and models. 

Field test of these models with data reduction, analysis, and reporting.

Examine unique problems, propose innovative solutions based on personal research and analysis, and implement solutions to reduce RCS Signatures in airframe and propulsion related products.

Test-related efforts may require travel to our off site test facilities in Florida

A BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, physics or a related discipline, with background and/or demonstrated interest in RCS technologies. 

An active US security clearance is required. 

Some programming in FORTRAN, C or Visual BASIC will be needed.

Knowledge of Propulsion, Electromagnetic Materials, RCS Reduction techniques and the Unigraphics CAD system is desirable. 

Strong communications, teaming MS Office software skills are all beneficial.

Radar Cross Section Test Engineering Specialist

We are in need of a Radar Cross Section (RCS) test engineer.

This position entails working in a High Tech, State of the art facility in a fast paced, modern and fascinating atmosphere.

  • The qualified individual will have recent experience operating, testing and maintaining all aspects of our Radar Ranges, both outdoor test facilities as well as indoor compact ranges.
  • You must be able to conduct the tests within our Ranges then analyze the data in order to accurately assess the risk level of our products.
  • Modeling experience is a must
  • A Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Physics or Math is required.
  • 4 – 15 years of experience in an RCS or Antenna test range environment is mandatory.
  • An active Secret level security clearance at minimum is also necessary. The selected Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Experience as an Antenna test engineer is acceptable if recent tests include defense related products.

Low Observables Manager

Job # 1094

This Manager of Low Observable (LO) Manufacturing and Validation Systems leads a team responsible for defining material performance requirements, verifying properties and performance, support production cost reduction, and establishing Low Observable (LO)  production inspection techniques.

Duties include managing facilities, test technology development, personnel supervision, engineering standard word development, practitioner training, certification, and development/support of Low Observable (LO) manufacturing clinics.

  • This position requires development of production inspection technology, technical support for Low Observable (LO) production inspection system including procurement, procedures, acceptance standards, installation, and preventative maintenance.

  • Technical oversight of radar and optics measurements is also required.

  • Ability to collaborate with Materials and Manufacturing personnel in a dynamic environment is critical to success in this position. Engineering or Physics Degree Required Electrical Engineer Degree a plus. Advanced Degrees will receive high consideration.

  • Qualified candidates will have 10 to 15 years of experience in Radar instrumentation, Low Observables, or Low Observables manufacturing.

  • Experience in the following areas is a plus: Radar Cross Section (RCS) RCS Reduction/Prediction/Analysis Observables/Low Observables Physical Optics/Geometric Optics/Method of Moments Analysis Radar/Radar Design/Theory/Analysis Antennas/Antenna Theory/Analysis Transmission Line Theory/Analysis Electromagnetic Fields And Waves High Frequency/Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Frequency Low Observables Materials Aircraft Survivability Optics

Low Observables Design Engineer of Exhaust Systems

  • We need design engineers to work on the next generation of exhaust systems specifically aimed at uninhabited air vehicles and next generation air frames.

Multiple openings are available in the Advanced Technology Group for engineers with creativity, drive, and a desire to see their ideas become reality.

Applicants must be US citizens, cleared to work on classified programs.

  • Specific skills and expertise are being sought, such as knowledge and experience of advanced material systems and their design and manufacture, and/or knowledge and experience in the design of low observable structures.

  • Experience in the design of high temperature components is a plus.

  • Applicants need to be expert in the use of CAD systems.

  • Substantial grounding in the fundamentals of engineering and manufacture is required.

  • Aerospace experience is helpful.

  • Applicants who have unique qualities that they think could contribute to the design of these structures should apply.

  • The engineers will work in an integrated product team, as contributors to the overall design, analysis, fabrication, and validation of these novel structures. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected for these important programs. Good communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to success. These programs and aircraft will play important and constantly evolving roles in the future of the military.

  • Engineers with the ability and desire to drive their development are needed.

A BS / MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, or higher.

There are multiple openings for a wide range of experience. Unfortunately there are no entry level openings at this time.

Specific training needed to improve the applicants proficiency in these specialized areas is available, but this is NOT entry level.

  • 6 to 20 years of recent Radar Cross Section , Infrared Signature Reduction or Low Observable experience is necessary.

  • You will work as part of integrated product development teams, responsible for RCS analysis and prediction using computational tools such as Unigraphics, physical optics, method of moments, etc., for the design, fabrication, and test of engine hardware and models.

  • You will field test of these models with data reduction, analysis, and reporting.

  • Examine unique problems, propose innovative solutions based on personal research and analysis, and implement solutions to reduce RCS signature of turbomachinery, ducts, and nozzles.

  • Some programming in FORTRAN, C or Visual BASIC will be needed.

Radar Cross Section Low Observable Engineering Specialist

This position entails working in a High Tech, State of the art facility in a fast paced, modern and fascinating atmosphere.

You will wear multiple hats in this department, and have a variety of tasks to perform, such as:

  • Working on all aspects of Radar Cross Sections in an airborne environment.

  • The emphasis for these positions is on Analysis and Test, with some Materials experience in Low Observables.

  • Perform data Predictions, Analysis, Test, Cad modeling, working with a particular component, doing prototyping, testing, working with Manufacturing.

  • Some Radar Absorbing Materials (RAM) background, or knowledge is a Plus

  • Taking projects from cradle to grave.

  • You may work into IPT leads on various projects.

  • It would be helpful to have some as and some experience in RF, Electro-Optics / INFRARED as well as PATRAN, Pro-E . X-PATCH , and SPIRITS code experience is viewed as a big Plus (Though not Mandatory)

  • You may also Perform detailed design, analysis and test data reduction in Radar Cross Sections RCS and Infrared IR Signature Management and reduction.

  • Signature Prediction and Modeling for design optimization.

  • EMCC's RF Signature Prediction codes, specify materials, Processes & tolerances. Familiar with RCS test & EM material property measurements would be a plus

  • Extensive use of Personal computers and workstations.

  • Interact with customers & co-workers. Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Sufficiently mobile to negotiate the Plantsite and test range.

  • Familiarity with Infrared / Visible Signature Analysis and low observable specifications is a plus

  • Participate in Low observable development programs

  • Ability to perform threat driven Analysis resulting in Infrared / visual vehicle Signature requirements.

  • Ability to evaluate Infrared vehicle Signatures using Analysis tools such as Miriam / Spirits and Irma would be helpful but not mandatory
